Our Practice

Kind Dental Care opened in June 2020. We chose the name Kind Dental Care because we truly believe the world could use a little more kindness. Kindness spreads with just one person and can start with something as simple as a smile. That's why, inside our practice doors, we not only treat our patients with the utmost kindness and respect, but we work hard to create smiles that our patients are proud to share. Our team members will take care of you, listen to you, and tend to your needs. We hope to be an example of how people should be treated not only in the dental chair but in the community. At Kind Dental Care, it is easy to see that we are kind, and we really do care.

Accommodating Schedule

Time is valuable, and your life is busy. We understand. That's why we always do our best to accommodate our patients' busy lives with a flexible schedule, including Saturday hours! It is also important to us to treat dental emergencies as quickly as possible. If you are in pain or have an emergency, please don't hesitate to call. We will do our very best to get you in the chair and out of pain on the same day. 

Dr. Joowon Cho

After moving to Austin from South Korea as a teenager, I grew up in the area and attended Westwood High School as well as the University of Texas at Austin. During my first year in college I got braces, which changed my life. Growing up I had always been conscious of my crooked teeth, and I tried to hide them with my upper lip. Because of this, sadly, I do not have many smiling childhood pictures. However, with the help of my orthodontist, I gained confidence and began to smile. This experience made me dream of becoming a dentist so I could impact other people’s lives as well.

After college, I moved to San Antonio and studied dentistry at the UTHSCSA College of Dentistry. After working in the Rio Grande Valley for a couple of years, I moved back to North Austin, which I have long considered my home. The past few years have been blessings for me, as I had the opportunity to serve the community and improve the lives of my patients. I am excited to be part of this lovely community and spread kindness with a smile.

Alene

Hi! My name is Alene, and I am a married Mother of three. I have two beautiful girls (Joy and Love) and an ambitious little boy (Liam). I was born and raised in New York City with Parents from Jamaica and of West African descent. I have a BA in Behavioral Science and Philosophy and worked as a Case Manager for homeless veterans and individuals recovering from past substance abuse issues for many years. Working with the homeless population was fulfilling, but I wanted instant gratification. I wanted to be able to make people happy right away. Due to my experiences with wearing braces I realized that I loved Dentistry and wanted to make people smile often. I returned to school to do what I really loved. In my spare time I enjoy learning to cook new cultural dishes, going on family outings, and reading. I am a huge fan of sushi and love to travel often. My goal is to make every patient smile through offering great dental education, great dental treatment, and a contagious smile.

Amie

My name is Amie Nguyen and I am a dental assistant here at Kind Dental Care! I am a third-year student at UT Austin (hook ‘em!) majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Anthropology and a Business of Healthcare Certificate. I speak Vietnamese, am Austin, TX born and raised, and I enjoy baking, cooking, crocheting, and reading. You can always find me doing one of those things in my free time. I am super excited to be working here and I can’t wait to meet everyone!
